At times of poor weather conditions, we are frequently asked "is the game on?"

The club secretary, chairman and groundsman are in regular contact when the conditions mean a pitch inspection may be required but this decision is only ever finalised after a precautionary pitch inspection by ourselves has taken place. This would never be less than 24 hours before a game unless the prevailing conditions make it an obvious requirement. The opposition and match officials are the first to be informed before we make the details public.

A formal pitch inspection has to be undertaken by a suitably qualified referee and we schedule this for as late as possible but early enough that we can avoid the away team starting their journey.
