Emley welcome SJR Worksop from the Central Midlands league to the Fantastic Media Welfare Ground for the 2nd time in 2 years in the Sheffield and Hallamshire senior county cup on Saturday (1pm).

It's the second game of our defence of the trophy following an 8-1 win over Yorkshire Main in the 2nd round late last month and it comes against an opponent we have been drawn against previously.

That was 2 seasons ago with Emley running out 5-2 winners but SJR put up a decent fight and they'll be looking to do the same on Saturday, we were actually drawn against them a third time a few years back, but Emley received a bye as they were unable to raise a side.

St Josephs Rockware (SJR) Worksop, are, as their name suggests, based in Worksop, and play in the Central Midlands Football League, Premier Division North, which is step 7 on the non league system ( Emley play at level 5).

For 35 years they played in the Worksop Sunday league, and made the step up to CMFL in 2019, after winning Div. 1 in their first season they then moved up to the Premier Division where they have remained since.

Emley's dramatic 3-2 win at Frickley on Tuesday evening was the 12th game unbeaten and lifted the Pewits to the top of the NCEL Premier Division, SJR are currently 14th in the Central Mids. Premier Division North, they have won 6 out their last 7 games in all competitions and their last game was a 2-1 local derby win over Worksop Town Reserves in the League cup.
