Emley are back on the road again this weekend as they face a second trip to Durham in as many weeks to face Consett in the Northern Premier League D1 East on Saturday (3pm).

Emley secured a decent 1-1 draw at Newton Aycliffe 2 weeks ago and then followed that up with 2 very decent wins, Trafford were beaten 3-0 away as Emley progressed in the FA Cup then league leaders Belper Town were seen off in an impressive 3-1 win on Tuesday.

That result put Emley into 2nd place in the early league table but level on points with Cleethorpes Town, Consett, are currently 2nd bottom with 1 point following a 1-0 defeat at Sherwood Colliery and a 0-0 draw at home to Garforth Town, they also lost 3-2 to Redcar Athletic in the FA Cup.

In a season of first, it will be the first ever meeting between Emley and Consett, Consett, nicknamed 'The Steelmen' were founded in 1899 and have a rich history, they were founder members of the North East league in 1922 and also played in the Midlands, Northern Counties and Northern leagues until promotion to the NPL 2 years ago, securing 2 mid table finishes so far, they actually applied to join the football league in 1946-47.

They have reached the first round proper of the FA Cup twice, in 1958-59 losing to Doncaster Rovers then in 1996-97 losing out to Mansfield Town, they were also FA Vase runners-up in 2019-20, losing 3-2 to fellow North Easterners Hebburn Town at Wembley, since 2013 they have played at Belle View stadium.

M62/M1/A1(M) to J62, take the A690 exit to Sunderland/Durham/Consett/A691. A690 through Durham then A691 for approx.7 miles. At roundabout, follow A692 Consett, at Leadgate Rdbt, 1st exit onto Leadgate Rd/A692, at Delves Lane Rdb, 1st exit onto Delves Lane, ground is on the left.
Alternatively, A68 from J58 of A1(M) to Castleside, then A692 to Consett, at Delves Lane Rdbt, 3rd exit into Delves Lane.
