Top of the table clash in West Yorkshire derby.

Emley face another West Yorkshire derby in the Northern Premier League Division 1 East on Tuesday night but this one is a top of the table clash at Bradford PA (7.45pm)

Following Emley's 4-0 thrashing of Carlton Town on Saturday that saw the Pewits extended the lead at the top to 5 points, Bradford's 3-1 win at Consett placed them in the play off spot, 6 points Emley with former Emley striker Paddy Sykes netting twice to take him joint club top scorer.

With Brighouse, Ossett and Liversedge all beaten and a 0-0 draw at Pontefract, this 5th West Yorkshire derby of the season is possibly Emley's toughest, against a Park Avenue side unbeaten in 6 and, like Emley, have only lost once at home this campaign, that was a 4-1 hammering at the hands of Liversedge.

Bradford (Park Avenue)'s history is a long and interesting one, founded in 1907 after Bradford FC abandoned rugby to play Association football, the remaining minority of the rugby side then formed Bradford Northern, now known as Bradford Bulls. the Park Avenue suffix was added to avoid confusion with Bradford City (who also switched from Rugby).

They were members of the football league, (originally taking Fulham's place in the Southern league), until 1970, where they dropped down to the NPL before disbanding in 1974, and were then reincarnated in 1987, playing in the Central Midlands and North West Counties leagues before rejoining the NPL in 1996, they played at National league level for 10 seasons before 2 relegations finds them back in NPL D1 for the first time since 2008.

They play at Horsfall stadium having moved there in 1996 following a nomadic existence at various grounds, including rugby grounds, around West Yorkshire.

There have been 8 previous meetings between Emley and Bradford PA, all around the turn of the millennium, Fun Fact -our assistant coach, Steve Nicholson was involved in 6 of those.

The last meeting was just over 20 years ago in April 2004 with Emley having won 3, Avenue winning 3 and 2 draws.

Last time out:
Bradford PA 3-1 Consett (Sykes 2, Shanks) Att- 341, NPL D1 East
