A Look Back At This Weekends Action

It was a good weekend for all at AFC Emley, with both the first team and the development squad running out winners in their respective games.
The first team won 8-0 at home to Lincoln Moorlands Railway, with Ashley Flynn bagging a hat trick, with Michael Tunnacliffe and Ruben Jerome grabbing braces, Max Leonard netted the other goal. The result means that the first team retain the top spot of the NCEL Division One, Pontefract Collieries are point behind with one game in hand.
Elsewhere, the development squad ran out 3-1 winners away at Thackley, with goals coming from Joel Harrison, Curtis Roberts and Sylbert Stewart. The result means that the side are still top of the Lancashire Football League East, 13 points clear of Ossett Albion, 14 clear of Brighouse Town, both of whom have 2 games in hand over Emley.
It is a quiet week for AFC Emley, with no sides in action until the weekend, where the First team welcome third placed AFC Mansfield to the Welfare Ground and the development side travel to Ossett Albion.
However, by the time Saturday’s game kicks off, the first team could be sat in second place, level with third as Pontefract are playing Rossington Main and Hemsworth Miners Welfare travel to Worsbrough Bridge Athletic during midweek.
